このコラムでは、デジタルシルクロードが、光ファイバー網や5G通信、電子商取引、デジタル金融など幅広い分野にわたる技術基盤を整備し、中国が世界各国に影響力を及ぼすための戦略的プロジェクトであることを指摘しています。特に、中国はこの構想を通じ、受益国へのインフラ提供を進める一方で、技術的依存を作り出し、自国の価値観を拡散させようとしていることを指摘しました。

I contributed a column to the December 2023 issue of the monthly magazine “East Asia” entitled “Digital Silk Road: The spread of values related to China’s strengthening of its influence and the social implementation of technology”.

This column points out that the Digital Silk Road is a strategic project for China to exert influence over other countries by developing a technological infrastructure that covers a wide range of fields, including fiber-optic networks, 5G communications, e-commerce, and digital finance. In particular, it points out that China is using this initiative to provide infrastructure to beneficiary countries while also creating technological dependence and spreading its own values.
